A quick thank you card for a friend today, learning more and more about these watercolor pencils.
Ahhh yes, barns …
A value study for an ‘ArchiScape’. I am challenged by nerve/tendon/ligament damage as a result of health Events, and the hand that used to draw with pen and ink, without error, now shakes. I am back to pencil and eraser, and find it is exactly where I should have been with these drawings. I never was a pen and ink draughtsman, but always pencils. Pencil sharpening, an art in itself. Kneaded erasers, an invaluable tool. Still learning. Always learning.
“The picture of who I am (you are) is still being filled in. I will hold the wholeness of who I am (you are) as my guide.”
On my own, here and there, one a photo, one a view, above..
Another inspired by a postcard and a poem, in a workshop.
I am interested in the differences between two drawings of the same barn: on site plein air on the left, and from a photo in the studio on the right. Different angles, same materials.
